The Ormond Beach Symphony Orchestra is the area’s first professional symphony orchestra. The Orchestra is enjoying its fifth season of musical performances. Doug Wilhite, Conductor and Artistic Director, is able to draw talent from each musician that puts one in mind of a well-seasoned orchestral ensemble. In its four-concert season, the Orchestra presents a remarkable personality with strength of talent and sophisticated, yet fresh, inspiration. Each program is designed to ensure an invigorating, engaging, and compelling performance.

The 50-piece orchestra comprises professional musicians residing in the Greater Halifax/Central Florida Area. The Orchestra's finances support its performances through ticket sales, donations from individuals, fund-raising activities, and support from the business community through advertising sponsorships.

The staff and volunteers provide leadership, member support, and musician advocacy while conveying the value in having a local symphony orchestra and its importance to the cultural enhancement of the community.
